Meetings have increased in length and frequency over the past 50 years, to the point where executives spend an average of nearly 23 hours a week in them, up from less than 10 hours in the 1960s: stop the meeting madness. How much are you spending on your meetings?

All of us, at some point, experienced being in unproductive meetings. Have you ever completed the exercise to monetize the hidden costs of meetings?

No matter what profession we are in, time management comes down to making choices. Should you spend your day in meetings or block out time to work on your more important work?

Mark Cuban has famously said, “The only way you’re going to get me for a meeting is if you’re writing me a check.”

Productivity doesn’t just happen on its own as Meyer, the founder of the Success Motivation Institute, said. Instead, there are very specific things you need to do to be more productive.

That means becoming self-aware of what work drives the biggest results, blocking out external distractions, and scheduling the right work at the right time.

We can’t control time. But we can learn strategies to get the most out of the time we do have.

And about those meetings that may or may not be necessary — an easy calculator is available to monetize the hidden costs of meetings here: https://www.owllabs.com/meeting-cost-calculator

Thank you for reading!
